Client work

Why this library does not reproduce the original client list, and what it publishes instead.

The original site listed the organisations that had commissioned research from it, and linked each to a project write-up. That list is not reproduced here, and neither are the write-ups in their original form.

The reason is straightforward. A client list is the client’s information as much as the agency’s: it says who bought what, and in some cases what problem they had at the time. Those relationships were commercial and mostly private, several of the organisations still trade, and none of them agreed to have the fact republished on a site they no longer have any connection with.

What survives is the method. Where a project write-up described a research design worth recording — how a proposition was tested, how a satisfaction study was structured, how a multi-country study was fielded — it is rebuilt as a case note with the organisation replaced by a neutral descriptor. The design is the reusable part; the name never was.
